Sis- A condescending and patronizing way to criticize a woman, displayed mostly online and in social media settings. A Term that was once a casual but also sweet way to reference a sister-friend, has been turned into a way to soften the blow or do damage control on the not so nice comments that will proceed. It is now a disingenuous term used to usher in the advice that no one asked for. A sister-friend is much more than a best friend. Sister-Friends help support, motivate, encourage each other and build each other up, not tear each other down for clout. Everybody ain't your friend or sis, they haven't earned the right to address you with such familiarity. The phrase "speaks with a forked tongue" means to deliberately say one thing and mean another, or to be hypocritical, or act in a duplicitous manner. It's funny 'Sis" already sounds like the hiss from a snake. A Snake (when referencing people) is said to be someone who is two-faced, a backstabber (especially after you thought they were sincere and nice), or a person who, for no reason, tries to hurt you (Snake you). For all these reasons and so many more this shirt and coffee mug was designed for the growing population of women who do not want to be referred to as , 'Sis.'
